BE A LIFEGIVER
(1 John 5:16)
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Did you know that Christians have the power to give life? Well, it's true. That's an awesome responsibility. First John 5:16 lets us know that when we are in a position to observe a brother or sister in Christ sinning, God is actually placing the responsibility of providing a covering in our hands. This passage refers to it as "giving life". Let's face it. Whether we knew it or not, we've all been on the giving and receiving end of this one. We've either been one who "gives life" or have been the naked person, where God allowed someone to see us do something that wasn't desirable in His sight and they prayed on our behalf -- covering us before the Lord.
Let's take this reponsibility seriously and act accordingly. Give life every time you get the chance. We accomplish this by standing in the gap via prayer.
NOTE: If you've ever wondered why it seems like you're constantly being mistreated or why you are constantly in "the wrong place at the wrong time", seeing and hearing shocking things, now you know. God trusted you to see and hear the things you did in hopes that you will fulfill your responsibility. Friend, be a lifegiver.
