Snapshot: You receive a call from a friend that has invited you to accompany them to an event. They explain what type of event it is (how critically important it is and the ramifications associated with it), how great of a privilege it is to partake in such an event, how you should dress, what time the event takes place and what time you should be ready. |

Snapshot: ...And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. This is one of the more commonly referred to scriptures in the book of Revelation and a common phrase used in dialog in Christendom. It is vital, however, that Christians understand what a testimony is . . . from God's perspective, as there are many statements made in scripture about God's testimonies and our testimonies that are critical to our success. |

Snapshot: Leviticus 19:15:18 deals with......dealin' with stuff. Verse 15 deals with integrity when handling various situations that require us to make a distinction, judgment or decision. It lets us know that we should do so in righteousness. Verse 16 lets us know that we should not be talebearers -- going hither and yon carrying tales of slander, falsehood and degradation of people's character. |

| • | Taking Responsibility http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/takingresponsibility.php |
Snapshot: And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. In a case where someone trespassed against you, have you ever had anyone tell you "I didn't mean to do it" or "I didn't know"? These responses may appear innocent, but what's really being said (in most cases, if not all) is "I know you've been inconvenienced, but I'm not responsible." |

Snapshot: Verbs. Action words -- denoting things that are done. The life of a Christian is marked by what he or she does. What a Christian (or anyone for that matter) is validation of what they believe. |

| • | The Dumbest People in the World http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/dumbestpeople.php |
Snapshot: A couple went to a restaurant. Having knowledge of what was good, they placed their order. The waiter brought out the food, said "Bon appetit" and went on his way. The food was filled with maggots, mold, mildew and toxins. It was visibly unpleasing and it didn't taste good, but the patrons didn't complain. They ate the rancid food, not even attempting to shoo away the flies that buzzed around their table, wiped their mouths and left a huge tip before departing. |

| • | The Dynamics of Handling Faults http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/handlingfaults.php |
Snapshot: Originally, this article didn't have a scripture text. James 5:16 came to mind because of the implied message that it presents -- confess your faults.... The implication is that everyone has them. Note that James didn't say, "Confess your faults if you have any." |

| • | The Enlargement of Hell (Murder in the Church, Part 14) http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/enlargementofhell.php |
Snapshot: We were riding down the street yesterday and decided to take in some of the local "Christian" broadcasting on the radio. As is the case with many so-called broadcasts, that which was being discussed was of little to no value. The particular broadcast we were listening to was spewing out some of the common thoughts about how God would judge America and presenting such issues as abortion, the ten commandments on the wall in a courthouse, prayer in the schools, etc., etc., yada, yada, yada. |

Snapshot: No doubt we've all heard the parable of the sower. This parable is recorded in Matthew 13, Mark 4 and Luke 8. It is extremely insightful, giving us information regarding the various states that people are in when they hear the word of God. Most importantly, it lets us know about the obstacles that come to keep us from bringing forth fruit. This is our primary focus today. |

| • | The Importance of a Willing Heart http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/willingheart.php |
Snapshot: As we walk with Christ, examining things that are presented to us, the "small" things are easily overlooked. Though strength, faith, study, renewal of the mind and maintaining hope are important, we just might forget to realize that our entire walk has foundational aspects as well. If certain things are not in place, we cannot do the obvious, apparent or more "notable" ones. |

Snapshot: Salvation is free!!! Come to Jesus and he'll take away all sorrow!!!
We don't have any reason to be sad in the Lord! We should always be happy! These are some of the popular sayings in today's church. Though they are true (in general), in and of themselves, there is a hint of incompleteness that they carry as well if not dealt with in the proper context. |

| • | The Singularity of Escape (One Way) http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/wayofescape.php |
Snapshot: No doubt we've all heard 1 Corinthians 10:13 (printed above). In many traditionally-based Christian circles, this passage is used to support the statement "He won't put more on you than you can bear". This "cliche", while seemingly encouraging, falls short of THE key point of the verse. |

| • | Things Worth Desiring -- Bearing Much Fruit http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/bearingmuchfruit.php |
Snapshot: In 2 Chronicles 1:7, King Solomon, David's son, was presented with an opportunity to ask of the Lord anything he wanted. When presented with this, Solomon did two astounding things that Christians would do well to take note of: 1) he reflected on the mercy showed unto his father, David and 2) he humbly considered the position he was in and the responsibility reflected by it. |

| • | This and That (Wholly Follow the Lord) http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/thisandthat.php |
Snapshot: In Hebrews 6:12, we are exhorted be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. One such example left on record by the Holy Ghost is the attitude and faithfulness of Joshua and Caleb. |

Snapshot: Have you ever been in a situation where you made a statement regarding your faith in Christ, but your actions didn't quite match up? That's the thrust of today's message. In Jonah 1, we see the gentleman commonly referred to as "the reluctant prophet". We've heard about Jonah in the belly of the whale, his repentance and his issue regarding the gourd, but let's backtrack to the beginning of the matter in chapter 1 where Jonah is interacting with the passengers on the boat destined for Tarshish. |
