Snapshot: I'm sure most of you, if not all, have witnessed the change in worshipping trends in churches and in the Christian music industry -- the last few years especially. Last week, I wrote about a study I read online about this shift in worship and how people are viewing it. Thinking of the study brings to mind the words of the Lord Jesus when He asked Peter, "Whom do men say that I the Son of Man am."

Snapshot: A gentleman unloads a crate of fruit for examination by potential buyers. When the crate opens, many of the buyers, willing to spend (but wisely) notice what type of fruit it is and notice that, while the product looks good, the fruit is out of season and choose not to purchase. Others, not aware of the timeliness issue and other factors purchase the fruit and prepare to transport it to their establishments for sale.

Dangerous Theys (Murder in the Church, Part 9)

Snapshot: They. A pronoun. A word often overlooked in scripture. It's such a common word that unless the Lord really draws our attention to it, we'll miss what He's trying to tell us. The word they is used 7,377 times in 5,469 verses in the Bible. Some occurrences are more significant than others, as we'll highlight today.

Snapshot: Do you remember peer pressure? I most certainly do. Because everybody's doing it, everybody's wearing it and everybody's going there, we just had to do it, wear it or go there. The teenage years were a trying time for us all, but not because we were teens -- rather because we were in transition and were not on "solid ground" if you will, regarding who we were and where we were going in life.

False Declarations of Obedience (Yardsticks, Part 3)

Snapshot: One of the worst aspects of being "mistaken" about the Lord is when someone thinks they're pleasing to God or doing His will, but they're not. This is one of the worst manifestations of deception. It's almost hopeless. Such a person won't hear correction. They're not examining themselves, so they really don't know where they stand. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons they're in such a situation is because their heart is not pure.

Snapshot: We live in a flattery-filled society -- people always saying nice things that don’t really reflect the thoughts of their heart. You know -- compliments that people really don't mean. "That sure is a wonderful dress" OR "You're doing a wonderful job" OR "It's always so great to see you". Basically speaking, flattery is really a complimentary statement that clouds one's true sentiments or flatterers true condition.

Snapshot: What we think, know and understand about the Lord serves as the foundation for our entire relationship with Him. One of the problems with idolatry is the "image" associated with it. Hear the word of the Lord revealed by "image". It is the root word of "imagination".

Gone With the Wind (From the "A Closer Look at Psalm 1" Series)

Snapshot: In laying the foundation for this final message, I'm reminded of a conversation I had with an associate. We discussed the prefix "un" (as in ungodly) and examined what it means to be ungodly. Someone had stated that "to be ungodly means that you were once godly and forsake the way."

Snapshot: Okay, how many people out there are interested in WINNING SOULS? If so, lift your hands to the Lord and shout Hallelujah! How many people out there are interested in being USED by the Lord? If so, clap your hands unto the Lord!!! How many people out there want to know how to be PERFECT in these areas? If so, give the sacrifices of praise unto the Lord?

Snapshot: A group of people were talking at their job one day -- no more than 4 to 5 people. One person was inviting a young man to church. He declined the offer. Another person that was present perceived, through the Lord, that the person didn't decline the offer because he didn't want to go to church, but because he didn't want to miss the football game. In a countering move, the revelation regarding the football game was mentioned and the young invitee confirmed its truth.

Snapshot: No doubt that all of us have heard at least a portion of this message''s text in Revelation 21:8. The operative word, this time, from this passage is "liar". The operative question is, "What is a liar?" Interestingly, the scriptures pinpoint what we are to consider a liar. It is not simply one to tells "fibs", as we used to say as children, but the definition of a liar is a bit more specific than that.

Snapshot: Let's start our journey, taking a look at lying in "digestible chunks": OVERVIEW ON LYING: What's God's perspective on lying? We know what Revelation 21:8 says, but what else has He said? Let's take a quick look through the words of Solomon....

Overcoming Potiphar's Wife (Murder in the Church, Part 16)

Snapshot: Have you ever been betrayed by someone close to you? You know. Someone gets close, becomes aware of the thoughts of your heart, calling, tendencies, patterns, likes, dislikes, etc. and then erects a brick wall for you to slam into? All of our lives most if not all of us have talked used the cliche "back stabber". Everyone gets stabbed in the back at one time or another.

Overcoming the Overwhelming (Murder in the Church, Part 10)
http://www.cybersaint.org/xtras/discipleship/articles/overcomingoverwhelming.php

Snapshot: Consider today's text. We are exhorted to do four things: 1) LOVE your enemies; 2) BLESS them that curse you; 3) DO GOOD to them that hate you and 4) PRAY for them which despitefully use you and persecute you. Not doing these things can keep us from fulfilling our call in the Lord Jesus, as explained in the following verse (i.e., that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven....
